【Expedition Highlights】
● Karst Geology | Hidden Lagoons
Explore secret lagoons hidden behind towering limestone cliffs. From the low-angle perspective of a kayak, glide across emerald waters to witness the core geological beauty of Coron, including the world-famous Twin Lagoon.
● The Green Labyrinth | Mangrove Exploration
Coron boasts a pristine mangrove ecosystem. We paddle into narrow channels inaccessible to large boats, weaving through intricate root systems to observe the "forest of the sea" in its most primal state.
● Safety & Support | Escort Outrigger (Bangka)
A motorized support boat (Bangka) will accompany the fleet throughout the journey for gear resupply and emergency support, ensuring you can focus entirely on the beauty of the paddle.
【The Essence of the Expedition】
This 7-day "Navigation Practice" expedition in Coron, co-created by Waveism (浪花學堂) and Kayakasia, is an intensive training program designed to embed professional maritime skills within a tropical adventure. Moving beyond typical sightseeing, we have chosen the mysterious karst landscapes of Palawan, Philippines, to help participants evolve from enthusiasts into true navigators.
Navigating through intricate mangrove channels and hidden lagoons, we explore the deep ecological heritage of Coron. This journey is as much an intellectual practice as a physical challenge. Within the aquatic mazes formed by towering limestone cliffs, you will be led by senior Taiwanese ACA-certified instructors and expert local guides. The curriculum features hands-on training in map reading, compass orientation, and bearing concepts, teaching you to make independent decisions and plan safe routes amidst ever-changing tides and currents.
As the voyage progresses, we will tether our kayaks directly above WWII shipwreck sites, diving into crystal-clear waters to witness the magnificent coexistence of historic wreckage and vibrant coral reefs. At sunset, away from the crowds, we will set up wilderness camps on the pristine white sands of the island's southern tip to experience the authentic lifestyle of a sea farer.
To ensure the safety and comfort of every participant, a motorized support boat will accompany the fleet, carrying all camping gear, supplies, and provisions. This allows you to focus entirely on your paddle and the sea ahead without worry. This expedition is a unique fusion of technical instruction, historical exploration, and raw natural aesthetics. Through seven days of practical island-hopping, you will learn to "converse with the ocean" and gain the proactive skills necessary to safeguard your future voyages.
